CONFERENCE THEME

"Enhancing Practice, Optimising Recovery"

In an era when the mental health sector is undergoing significant change in terms of service delivery options, it is important for mental health nurses to pause and reflect on the changing needs of the service user and their family, and how this relates to our own practice development needs. Mental health nurses are highly educated; specialist knowledge and skill is enhanced through lifelong learning and professional development. Formal education, clinical supervision and learning new therapies help to reinvigorate and enhance our practice.

The aim of this conference is to deliver fresh, innovative ideas, alongside evidence-based concepts, with the view to enhancing delegates practice. A focus on existing, new and emerging therapies, a range of inspiring keynote speakers, high quality master classes and excellent networking opportunities will make this a conference mental health nurses and others in the mental health sector can not afford to miss!

The theme ‘Enhancing Practice, Optimising Recovery’ will be supported by a number of streams,

each with a strong focus on evidence based examples of best practice.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR ABSTRACT REVIEWERS

To view the EOI Flyer please click here

We are now seeking Expressions of Interest from members to become an Abstract Reviewer for the International conference. Abstract Reviewers support the program committee by blind reviewing abstracts and using the online scoring system to rank abstracts according to a range of measures. Feedback from Abstract Reviewers helps the program committee to best arrange the conference program and ensures a dynamic and informative conference.

Key points for consideration:

  • Reviewers will be sent a link to the online EventsAir system and will need to register with the system.

  • Reviewers will have around 10, but no more than 15 abstracts allocated for review. Reviewers will be notified of the abstracts they need to review on or soon after the 15th May 2017.

  • Information about the scoring system is available through the online system and should you be successful in your application to review

  • There is a short time frame for the reviews to be completed – 14 days only - due to the time requirements to prepare the program, therefore reviewers will need to be able to commit to reviewing abstracts between 15 May and 31 May 2017.

  • The ACMHN Events Coordinator will communicate with reviewers on behalf of the program committee.

Criteria for appointment as an Abstract Review Panel member:

  • Current member of ACMHN

  • A minimum of three years experience as a mental health nurse

  • Previous experience / involvement in abstract review processes (either as a reviewer or submitter) is desirable but not compulsory.

  • If you are interested in being a member of the Abstract Review Panel and have a minimum of three years clinical experience, please email us with your expression of interest, (no more than 200 words) outlining your relevant educational and work history. Please also note any particular conference sub theme that you consider is a particular specialty or area of interest for your review.
